Why are people so worried about gen 8? We have James Turner as art director. He is very passionate about Pokémon and is a very good artist. Masuda on the other hand is about cash grabbing for genwunners. Anyway gen 8 will be amazing!

I generally like his pokemon designs, but I’d call the majority of them avant-grade and I can see how other people might dislike them. As art director he might flesh out from his unique style and do classic cute/cool designs, I fear for Gen 8 as a whole but I’m excited to see the new mons regardless

He's an art director. He just finalises and approves designs of the bunch of designers.

I'm more worried on how the stock art will turn out since it seems Art Directors are the ones who do that. And I'm not sure how good of a Sugimori style Turner can do

James only approves other peoples work and is still under control of Ohmori and Masuda. Nothing changes. You can delude yourself into thinking anything will change, but I won't join you. It's better thinking Gen 8 will suck and then maybe being surprised than hyping yourself up only to get something as shallow and shit as Sun/Moon and Let's Go.

Gamefreak said they already struggled with the switch dev kit despite it being literally made to simplify game making, and then agian it could be another VN like SM.Most of turners designs are good or at least fine minus vanilluxe and bruxish

Um... what? I don't even like gen 3 that much but yes it would be objectively the best looking pokemon gba game because it was the most "to date" gen on the gameboy.
