>Kanto Route 25
A quaint small route, little to explore, lightly populated and leads no where, ultimately lapping back onto itself but still has a peaceful atmosphere with vegetation and water.
>Johto Route 22
Lush green route, straightforward but still has offshoots to explore. Has access to ancient ruins, waterfront, small population, caves, and the looming reminder of growing industrialization taking over nature.
>Hoenn Route 115
Beaches, water, lush greenery, hidden areas and mountainous caves scared by the impact of meteors, creating an air of mystery and something ancient lurking.
>Sinnoh Route 210
Mountainous, dark, filled with vegetation and water, the thick oppressive weather in the fog up north, lots of little nooks and crannies to explore.
>Unova Route 20
Unova was hard for me because there are so many features to try to capture in Unova. I feel Route 20 comes closest. The route itself completely changes with each season, each weather bringing out new areas to explore, the bridge in the middle, while small, can still be used to express the core nature of bridges to the Unovan experience. The cave on the south west corner also contains ancient mysteries, much like Unova itself, a metropolis built on top of ancient ruins. I feel Unova has more cityscape and more ancient ruins than this route can offer, but it gets close.
>Kalos Route 4
The Kalos region is an eclectic mix of half finished ideas and beautiful scenery, and ultimately boils down to what Route 4 offers. A straight line, with beautiful landmarks at its center, and surrounded with small vignettes that appear to be new mazes to explore but also end up just being shallow.
>Alola Route 8
A straight line of well paved road, small vistas to enjoy, a little lab, a hotel, an amusement park of no value, and a beach for the kids to splash around in. Exactly the gentrified, plastic, boring encapsulation and lack of excitement that Alola is all about.
