People who like Hoenn are blinded by nostalgia, desperately clinging to a time when pokémon was falling to a low it wouldn't see until gen 6(ironically the gen with hoenn again) and attaching themselves to a contrarian opinion. In polls, gen 3 never makes the top three of people's favorite gens. Even on /vp/ it never gets listed as anyone's number one.
I can only come to the conclusion that people who say they love or even like Hoenn have a mental deficiency or are intentionally taking a contrary stance to somehow position themselves as more intelligent for their "rare" and "cultured" opinion.
