>>37423876The only ways I'd buy a Tamagotchi is if they either revamped the concept and put way more content and options in it, or if they create a phone app.
The phone app would be straight-forward: You download the app. You occasionally play with the tamagotchi. It grows the better you take care of it (and the more you walk around with it). Based on different things you do (or places you visit) it evolves differently, taking on unique appearances (like if you're in a heavy city area it'll have an angry face...or if you are out in the country it'll be more pudgy...or if you're out in a wooded area it'll be more rugged. etc etc.). They can even add in shitty payment methods to make the things better, or whatever.
The revamped portable version would be like this: It's a slightly-larger version of the classic Tamagotchi. It has different sensors on it, so you can pet it, or slap it, or poke it, etc. If you hold it and make part of it warm, it'll interpret that you're snuggling with it. If it gets too cold, it'll get sick. You can feed it like the old ways. As you walk around, it senses this and becomes healthier with you.
Finally, you can recharge the damn thing with an outlet via a usb plug and lithium battery. You can plug it in your computer and it'll update your Tamagotchi's status and stuff.
I think either idea would be neat...but it's never going to happen.
