The games haven't been that important in a long time, and we all know it. The franchise thrives off of the anime, TCG, and merchandise. The games are only needed to give the latter three more material to print money with.

who gives a shit about some contrarians? MAJORITY of the population loved BoTW, so naturally they will appeal to these kind of players.

And since it was critically acclaimed game, Gen 8 is bound to be amazing as well.
