Should Game Freak get rid of Levitate and make it so any floating or flying Pokemon are immune to Ground-type attacks by default? Right now Levitate is a redundant ability that means a lot of mons don't get actual abilities because they are floating or flying. Solrock and Lunatone could use actual abilities, so could many Pokemon with Levitate. On the other side of the spectrum there are plenty of non-flying types that can fly and float like Beedrill which don't have Levitate and are hit by Ground-type moves.

Flygon, Hydreigon and Vikavolt are clear examples. They are Pokemon with wings which spend most of the time in the air, are flying in all their models, but lose their pre-evolutions abilities to Levitate because they are not part flying.
