Anabel is an skilled trainer with the special trait of psychically commanding her pokémon to attack. She can just kick Serena's ass, because she won't be able to see through that, and she's not as fighting-orientated as the other main girls are.

Being fair about all things, Ash did beat Anabel and Serena does copy Ash's battling style to a t when she wants to even if she normally isn't inclined to battling so you really can't write off Serena as not being able to see it and battling Anabel.

In a one-on-one where neither girl knows each other and just want to take Ash, Serena is more likely to not notice Anabel's psychic abilities, and would just wonder why the fuck is she staying silent while her pokémon does all the job.

Serena already witnessed two occasions of that happening so that wouldn't throw her off. It also doesn't change that even though it was a rematch Ash still beat her and Serena can mimic Ash precisely.

Well, when looking at Special ships and their fanart, must go directly into MCxMC. I think the only exception was when Bill was revealed to be dating Daisy.
