If you choose not to accept it she doesn’t even give it to you, and I only use pokemon originally discovered in that region (eg no non-Kalosian pokemon in XY except Megas, no non-Alola except Alola forms, etc). My Mega in XY was Mawile

I might have taken it and immediately boxed it, but I don't recall. I generally try to only use new pokemon when I first play through a game, so I never actually used any megas until doing some online battles postgame.

Sylveon
Goodra
Both were pretty good teams, Barbaracle I think ended up being my favorite member overall.

I didn't mega evolve at all and never used Lucario in the first place. I generally just use the new pokemon introduced in the series and ignore older 'mons until the endgame

I took her Lucario, removed its Mega Stone, and dumped it in the PC at the first opportunity. I also nicknamed it Furaffinity. I was salty about the entire thing.

I for some reason decided to have an extremely bland team, so I already had a lucario. It felt awkward just getting handed one of hers after they had her say it wanted to come with me. I ended up taking the lucario and boxing it for the mega stone since I didn't want to drop the one that I was using.

I picked it up for the Mega Stone then benched it. I was already using Chesnaught for my Fighting type after all. The team was Chesnaught/Talonflame/Aurorus/Aegislash/Clawitzer/Absol. Absol was there because it was a Pokemon I'd always wanted to use and I didn't realise the Mega Stone was postgame.

This, except I didn't use Megas in XY because they're temporary forms and Diancie (which wasn't released at the time) is the only gen VI Pokemon with a Mega.

There was a route with wild Riolu in like the first three gyms and it came with 3 guaranteed perfect IVs, and if it was a Lucario by the time you got here then you had to raise its friendship to a certain level which would make abandoning it even harder.

I don't know why they made that design choice before giving you the option to abandon that lucario you caught, loved, and raised, as part of the story.

Neither. I had my competitive ones, Riot and Rika, waiting in Gen 5 to use with the stone.

I don't use things I haven't caught/obtained the egg for myself. I don't like gifts. Like any other forced battle, I let it get KOed so it wouldn't even get EVs.

The free Lucario you're given was just a gimmick to try out the new Mega Evolution thing, which I never ended up using anyway.

The QR island scanning lets you catch other Gen Starters. I never used a Kalos starter since when I got Y I hated torrent Greninja and swapped it for the event torchic you could get so I decided to use a Kalos Starter instead of Inciniroar. I really don't like the Alola Final Starters.
