i used sturdy magnemite with metal sound and like 10 reviver seeds

unless you overlevel or use a cheesy strat like tons of reviver seeds or dig spam, this fight is really difficult.

At least with Dialga it's your own fault when you die.
With Darkrai, not only does he have entire team to fight you, you have Cresselia who has garbage AI (to the point you will likely die before even you reach Darkrai)

I don’t get why people say it’s hard. I never stopped to grind or used vitamins and Roar of Time never one shotted.

Granted I was underleveled, but it was a bit jarring seeing how I dealt with everything beforehand fine. Dark Matter is the hardest boss either way.

He's actually not immune or even resistant to your Plusle/Minun assist since all Pokemon are single-type in that game.

My sky Darkrai fight actually went pretty well. Threw a stun seed at him at the beginning while the rest of the lackeys surrounded us. They brought me down to critical health, but Cresselia had bodyguard so I never died, so I 1-shot all the others with Overgrow Energy Ball, then we shitstomped on Darkrai afterward 3-on-1.
