Do you think Gen 8 will be announced in May, E3 or are those too long of a wait? What do you think they would properly announce Gen 8 since it's been teased since 2017?

No idea but I don't know if I'll be able to wait until May or E3. Kingdom Hearts and Resi 2 will only be able to carry me over for a couple weeks.

First games in a generation (XY, SM) have been in ~February, Second/third games in a generation (ORAS,USUM, LGPE) have been in ~May. Gamefreak does a ton of marketing for new gens and they want the hype season to be as long as possible. February or March at the latest.

They have already revealed the existence and launch window of the new games anon. Every article on LGEP mentioned how they had a new core title launching this year. They will not reveal the titles, when that's all they'll be able to talk about until May. They're trying to avoid the shit-show Gen VII became, especially with their first core release on a home console.

Titles in February: Because it's just best to get the official titles out there with out showing anything and build hype.

Starters in March: because of the whole Twitter Starter Countdown (which end in March with Primarina)

There is no Gen 8, OP. I'm sorry, you've been deceived. USUM were actually the last games in the the mainline series. Game Freak realised that they could get away with putting in even less effort than they already thought they had to since Gen 5 and so will be sticking with Let's Go. I know this because I am John Game-Freak's son's cousin's daughter's sister's aunt's nephew's father. I hope you are not disappointed.
