Gen IV's legacy is the p/s split and that's it. It needlessly buffed Dragon types to Gen I Psychic-tier for no reason, had a most filler dex with shitmons or unnecessary cross evos, a stupid regional evil team, badly designed and themed box legends, and and too many legends/mythics.

Best region for sure but the plot being overly Legendary focused was really tiring and mon design/stats were REALLY hit-or-miss. They tried to go for a mix of Hoenn's gimmickmons and Johto's cross-gen evos and prevos and a fair bit of competitive focus and leads to things being kind of a mess overall.

Kalos is a good region. It’s stoll linear as fuck and some areas were clearly there just to be expanded in Z, but the visuals are far better than the empty and unimaginative corridors of Alola

Well I never saw what was so special about Diamond and Pearl. First of all the pokémon roster was liner as fuck, the greatest example would be the choice between three fire type pokémon, one of wich is a starter. While on the subject of starter pokémon Sinnoh has you covered there, with the most god awful designs yet. But ultimately my favourite part of Sinnoh is its limitless amount of cockblock that hinder the players freedom. Oh but where the game comes short of pokémon variety and player exploration it sure makes up for HM's and you sure do need. It is so bad that I ended up with only three pokémon in my team while the rest where HM slaves. However we at least got a physical and special sprite.

These are the gens with the best Pokemon has to offer you. If you don't like every single game I just listed and maybe some high testosterone spinoffs such as Stadium, Colosseum/XD, Mystery Dungeon, Conquest, or Ranger; you literally do not have any good taste and are not worth wasting anyone's time over.
This simply just cannot be argued over.

This is the objective ranking. Any other list is wrong.

From Gens 1-4 every game made a major leap as far as game mechanics are concerned. Gen 5 rode on the coattails of Gen 4s advances and needed BW2 to fix BW. In addition Gen 5 started the problems that people associated with Gen 6. The friends, the linearity, the railroading, etc. Gen 5 wasnt bad but it wasnt as good as Unovaborts made it out to be. Even its supposed strong point the story was cringy and badly written.
Now gen 6 and 7 were bad but 7 did good by making the environment more realistic and moved away from land on a grid. But 7 also fucked up when USUM fucked up the storyline in an attempt to make Lusamine good.

You may not like this but feelings aside is the most objective take on generations.
