>>37443379Bland, but not bad. Not many defining features. Not many risks. So inoffensive that you can't hate it, but it's nothing special either. 7/10
>>37443383Very cute, but that's about it. Similar to the case of Charizard where it's a nice design, but nothing spectacular or noteworthy 7/10
>>37443588Greatest middle evolution. The plant/creature symbiosis is unique and so is the choice of combo, even if this plant-creature symbiosis became the basis for 90% of Grass type design with time. Looks great, has actual skin patterns for more standout appearance and does nearly everything right. It's just a shame that Sugimori liked tacking cat ears on everything in Gen 1 days. Otherwise the closest to perfection we've got in Pokemon design 9.5/10
>>37443970Just like Charizard in terms of appealing concept, but it gets extra points for havilg a slight folklore connotation and taking a huge design risk that payed off immensely and helps make it extremely unique and memorable. I understand the "spoilerheads" are the design team's way of conveying a speedy character ever since Sceptile, but i still have gripe with it. Everything else is spectacular and even slightly ambitious for what could've easily been a generic and safe, albeit great evolution. 9.5/10
>>37445488For an abomination, i feel like Mewtwo should definitely be uglier to fit in the category. I understand the design limitations they had at the time, so i'm willing to let it slide. Technically the only odd thing about him is the neck tube, which is a great idea to convey his brain needs extra oxygen to harness the immense psychic powers. Overall also great. 8.5/10
>>37445596Another fantastic starter. A simplified representation of the literal World Turtle myth. I love how the top of the shell looks almost like
spring scenery in a snowglobe: A hyper-wide angle shot with a huge tree in the foreground and a valley of mountains in the back. My fave starter 9.5/10
