>>37443480>Why waste hours of your life trying to get mons with such low encounter rates? What's the point of spending countless hours breeding to get perfect IVs? What's the point of grinding hours of your life away in order to get your team to max level? What's the point of RPGs, period? If you just hack to get instant gratification, it removes a massive chunk of the actual "gameplay". I'm not going to pretend that tedium in RPGs is even fun in the slightest, but apparently there exist some people who actually enjoy this bullshit. Personally, I wouldn't mind it so much if it was actually stimulating from a gameplay perspective, but, barring some VERY rare exceptions, that is simply not the case. It's nice to spend long hours with the game to get yourself properly immersed and develop an intimate bond with your Poke's and shit, but why do so many gamers feel the need to torture themselves for literally little-to-no benefit? I'm even guilty of this as I spent 200+ hours farming/ grinding away in Xenoblade 2 (which is an absolutely dreadful sequel and a shitstain on a truly stellar franchise, but I digress). I spent so much time and effort on that game, yet I feel completely empty since it gave me zero reward for my trouble.
TL:DR: Games should be fun, first and foremost. Grinding shouldn't feel like a chore. This is why so many gamers just hack for insta-shinies/ perfect IV mons. Developers need to stop giving us low effort garbage and actually put some thought into making the grinding/ farming process enjoyable as opposed to tedious.
