I haven’t beaten Gen 5 or anything past it. The only post Gen 5 game I own is Let’s Go Pikachu that I got for Christmas from my brother despite me specifically saying I didn’t want it and I have no plans to beat it either.

There's not a single mainline game I can enjoy anmore. Not even HG/SS.
Newer games have much better Qol stuff but also fucked pacing and handholding on top of no good postagame content.
Meanwhile older games feel clunky and lack many of my favorite mons from later gens

I really want to see a talented writer take a stab at Pokemon and not have it come across as superficially edgy or sexual.
Shudo was on the right track, but he ran out of ideas and was limited by what you could show on a children's cartoon. I watched Mushishi back in '05 and it was something closer to what I wanted Pokemon to be like.

I lost faith in Pokemon the moment they revealed Mega Evolution in Gen 6 and the last Gen that I genuinely enjoyed was Gen 5

I tried to play S/M followed by US/UM and sadly I couldn't get the same excitement that Gen 3-5 gave me.Maybe it's because I was growing up and I became tired of playing pokemon.I genuinely hated it because it feels as though a large part of my youth was ripped apart from me.Maybe its time for me to move on but I feel as though I'm stuck waiting for Masuda and Ohmori to release a new pokemon game that will incite the same excitement I felt back when I first started playing pokemon

I love Mega Evolution, largely for two reasons:

First, it represented a break from the paradigm GF is so afraid to break from. It added a completely new element to the games, instead of the mild-mannered "trying not to rock the boat" shit they're always pulling.
