Pokemon "Natures" is stupid. Just dump it entirely.

It's 2019 and non of these personalities traits reflect among the Pokemon we catch in the games, which they should.

I honestly agree.

I'm not against natures being a thing, but I don't like how they implemented them. Having yet another RNG for stats is an arbitrary mechanic that adds nothing but tedium to the experience.

You can't get rid of them entirely because some Pokemon really do need them, e.g. to be able to occupy more than a single niche in a meta – it's not unlike how you can't do away with Abilities entirely, since some Pokemon really do need them to be at all useful. Shedinja a dramatic example thereof.

I'm fine with them being left around, so long as they're customizable after the fact. That's the single biggest thing this game needs – I should be able to 'upgrade' any random Pokemon caught in the wild by grinding in battles to collect bottle caps, move tutor points, etc. so it's as good as had I elected to RNG egg hatch it instead.

Those few Pokemon who rely on natures could simply benefit from other more useful mechanics. I'm totally ok with the meta being reworked/shaken up.
I'm also not against changing natures as well as other characteristics. I think that obtaining a perfect mon via breeding etc should be a big time save, not the rule.

The point of breeding is to customize, and it’s rather tedious.
They need to revamp they various ways we obtain Pokémon entirely.
Like, if we can catch or breed, what would the advantages be between the two so that one isn’t the blantantly obvious decision

My hopes aren’t high, but for Gen VIII GF should at least allow you to change a Pokémon’s nature and let you choose which stats get the EV boost like in other RPGs.

On a side note, does anyone else think that the natures don’t really make sense in terms of the stats they’re paired with.

Keep the Natures for flavor purposes, but add an NPC or Item that's capable of changing the involved stats to a different Nature's.
Kill IVs entirely, contrary to what GameFreak believes we're not mindless apes who don't know how this shit works and are utterly amazed by this concept of "Wowie, my Rattata has 2 more Attack than his Rattata even though they're the same level, nature and gender!" when literally everyone wants them to fuck off in and between Turbo Casuals and Turbo Autists.

Gen 1 and 2 are more fun to simply because I can catch one wild pokemon and just use it without needed to catch 10 for something usable because 9 of them had shit natures.

Arn't natures kinda overridden by super training in OR AS and porting them up through the bank tho?

Not saying I don't think we shouldn't be able to change a pokemons nature (perhaps by feeding them an rather expencive item) but I do think It's nolonger the most important thing in the world.
