How Many generations will Pokemon reach before it dies?
Of course its still going strong (in sales that is), but It will fall apart someday and you know that. Whats your prediction /vp/?

i think thats a good guess.
Question is will it end off on a high note because gamefreak knows they cant do anything more, or will we slog through 10 absolute garbage gens before they finally stop selling? I hate that the latter is almost certain.

It is going to happen pretty soon, simply because Gamefreak themselves divided the fanbase and enforces it, only to go back on it later on, so they really don't satisfy anyone. They've already offended the hardcore fanbase, next they're going to offend their nonsense fanbase. It's just a brand now. There is no fandom. The same thing that has happened to many other franchises.

i feel like every gen has its own fanbase as well. But well they offend the nonsense fanbase? thats kinda their bread and butter now.

LGPE might have been the nail in the coffin. not because of sales, but because now they have 2 drastically different fanbases waiting for completely different games. Oh fuck the end may be alot sooner than i thought. Give me a number of unique gens you think we'll have by the end.

Just whatever this year's game is. If anyone is remaining to even feed into that tripe. It'll sell so badly that there is no recovering it. Either that, or it may enjoy a modest success much like LGPE, but they'll still go away if they even dare to repeat Let's Go, which they most certainly will. Either way, they can't go on after this.

I dont think gen 8 will flop. i think it should be about a successful as LGPE maybe a tad less. the thing is a pokemon game, whether mainline or like LGPE, basically cant fail. they always return money. so i think pokemon is gonna keep going a really long fucking time but its gonna go way off the handle. Gen 6 already had really shit Pokemon, imagine what kinda garbage were gonna get by like gen 15? Pokemon wont fail because of alienating its fans, it'll die from reaching Digimon levels of dumbshit.
