How many people on /vp/ completed the dex before? What about having a living dex?

Gen 4 dex was probably the worst fucking one to try and complete. You need a minimum of like 5 games to complete it, which is retarded.

I've got a complete living dex consisting only of Pokemon with my OTs, barring a handful of event Pokemon who can't have it otherwise. I've also got a separate living dex for Virtual Console mons and their cross-gen evolutions. There's a few other collections I've got going on like Dream-Radar, Ranch, in-game trades and so on. I'm currently working on keeping up to date on GO.

Why aren't you on my level?

Even main game first playthrough has had the Dex completed, others get completed as I feel like it before Gen 6 and post gen 6 + Bank they just get the full living Dex treatment.

So yes, not only do I have a living Dex, I am working on an all language and forme living Dex. Currently have 6 active Banks to facilitate this.

The only Dex I completed was the Diamond Dex. I had to UAE LeafGreen, Emerald and a friend's Pearl to complete it. It took me like 300 hours but it was worth it. Then I used a friend's Action Replay to receive the Azure Flute, Oak's Letter and the Key for the Arceus, Shaymin and Darkrai since Nintendo never released those in my region.

Then, in Gen IV, I again completed the Dex (minus Volcanion.) This time it took me only one afternoon since I sent all my mons from Diamond and got the remaining ones through the GTS.

In gen VII I didn't even attempt to complete the Dex since they removed the National Dex altogether.

It may sound weird, but completing the Dex was my favorite part about Pokémon games.

now i'm working on a shiny dex with battle ready pokemon, all perfect IVs good nature and ability..no ev training tho. exception is mythicals and legendaries, 5 30-31 IV is good enough for those

Across all the games I've played, I've completed it, barring Zeraora and Melmetal, I've just never bothered to transfer everything over to one file before, it's always split up.

There's no real reason to have a living dex in Gen 7 since it has no National Dex.

Getting a living dex is the easiest with Gen 6, you only literally need XY and ORAS. Then just buy either US/UM for the Alola shitters.

Yes, during the joy of XY I made a living dex by shiny breeding and trading for whatever I was missing.

I gave up playing Sun/Moon. God they fucked the game over by removing the PSS.

I'll care again when gen8 comes out

you could inject the wondercards into the save files using pkhex
or if you have 2 ds one of which a phat or lite and an r4 you could just download the distribution roms
or you can use the new wifi method which is pain in the ass for gen4 games

I completed the national in White 2, having a living dex at the time. After that, I stored all of them in the bank and I completed in Y and Moon but never again cared to have a living dex of the newer gens.
Maybe one day I’ll complete it again.

Made a living dex after bank was first a thing. I have no idea how you even get unregistered dex nav only Pokemon to spawn in ORAS as a result as I always bank in the living dex as soon as I can.
