In any case, regarding Extreme Evoboost, who says they can't just retcon Eevium Z to perform a different Z-Move entirely that has the same effects, but has a nonspecific name that allows the move animation to be updated to add further Eeveelutions? GameFreak seems more than happy with retconning literally anything that isn't move names or evolution methods, and with all the alternate universe bullshit you can just explain that Eevium Z in future titles ended up being created in a different manner from the Eevium Z found in Alola.
Besides, not to be a patternfag, but we've had a consistent track record of receiving a new Eeveelution every other Generation, and Gen 7 had no Eeveelution.
