SM had absolutely no side content and worse online than gen 6, and USUM were such carbon copies of SM that you couldn't stand playing them long enough to reach the single new feature.

Breeding, shiny hunting, wifi battles, and live pokedex. I was really into competitive battling back then and I had a lot more free time.

For me it's roughly (according to the 3DS play log)

>ORAS: 170 hrs
>SM: 280 hrs
>USUM: 160 hrs
Didn't bother with LGPE at all.
I don't even remember a lot of this time.

Shit I remember when I used to have 900+ hours in XD.
I had at the time Ruby and Leaf green, so I traded my pokemon to XD to grind at the Mt Battle.

I had well over 900 hours in XY. Training, collecting, and online features were better than any other game prior. I got a-lot of mileage out of it just from preparing teams and hopping online for Wi-Fi Battles and tournaments.

Gen 6 definitely has its flaws, but SM basically threw away all of its redeeming qualities. No PSS, no DexNav, no Friend Safari, no Inverse Battles, Mega Stones are stupid expensive. Also they except you to SOS Chain for Hidden Abilities now but LMAO. It's totally unreliable. I can't imagine how people put up with it.

I have nearly 6K hours on my main one alone and I own 5 copies of both X and Y.

Though lacking compared to what it should have, it's actually a decent game compared to everything to follow it.

I basically only cared about WT and GTS on the PSS, and since those were carried over that's all I really needed. I absolutely despise online competitive battling if I don't have to do it for a prize. A good chunk of my favorite bug types, as well as the UBs, which I adore, are in Gen 7, and that's mostly why I ended up liking it. I immensely resent XY for only having one new bug line plus some temporary, battle-only megas. Lovely town music though.
I liked ORAS a whole lot for the secret bases though. Best feature out of all the 3DS ones and a drastic improvement over the GBA original secret bases.
