Assuming we port Volcarona to gen 1 but none of the post-gen 1 moves it'd have a pretty limited offensive special movepool with Absorb (20 BP, doesn't OHKO Golem at +6) Solar Beam(shit) Psychic and Flamethrower but it'd also have the infamous gen1 Amnesia and Rest
I'll be doing some calcs using Venomoth and giving it Volc's stats.
>+6 Venomoth Flamethrower vs. Chansey: 331-390 (47 - 55.4%) -- 76.2% chance to 2HKO Assuming it doesn't get a crit (which ignores your own boosts) it'd have a decent chance at 2HKOing Chansey who can only Twave or hope for a freeze in return.
>Venomoth Psychic vs. Golem: 114-135 (31.4 - 37.1%) -- 84.7% chance to 3HKO >+2 Venomoth Psychic vs. Golem: 228-269 (62.8 - 74.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO It'd require a bit of weakening to beat Golem
Can't do much to Starmie and vice versa, has a disadvantage against Slowbro in a set up war
>Zapdos Drill Peck vs. Venomoth: 211-248 (56.5 - 66.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO >+2 Venomoth Flamethrower vs. Zapdos: 217-255 (56.6 - 66.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO Not to mention its best STAB is Fire which would thaw out Frozen mons meaning you wouldn't be able to blindly spam it.
I doubt it'd be Uber, in fact I'd bet it'd be around mid tier in OU due to being so easily crippled by Paralysis and hating mons like Tauros who can finish it off with a Hyper Beam with some prior damage, it cannot even set up on Exeggutor due to Explosion or any of its powder moves but I assume with the right timing it can pull a mean sweep late game.
