Explanations:
>Light and Dark being strong against each other is a common and novel idea I like. Dark isn't actual darkness, after all. It's good vs evil
>Since Ghost is more like the Shadow Type than Dark is, Light should really be immune to Ghost. But for balance reasons it's just a resist
>Light is not very effective against things which themselves emit, or highly reflect, light
>Psychic meanwhile resists and is strong against Light, both because manipulating light is very easy for an esper, and because Psychic is too weak these days.
>Resists Normal because normies ain't able to do jack shit on the divine
>Bugs are known for loving light and going straight for it, and I assume Light doesn't want nasty insects ruining its holy image, so Bug is strong against Light

Steel is something I considered, due to the odd way in which metal reflects light. But honestly it's best to just leave it alone. Steel doesn't need another resist.
I can't decide whether Light should be weak to Poison or strong on it. I can make up a strong case for both.
I do not really feel like debating each and every Pokémon that may be Light Type, but Absol, Lumineon, Luxray and Sunflora are easy picks.
