I love how new (old) Pokemon appear on every route once you get far enough, and with mirage spots, you can get a lot of shit before even fighting the E4. I think XY are the only other games where you can have a Volcarona in your team when entering the Elite Four for the first time.

Let's be real, there's no good reason for there not to be gym leader rematches. While they added plenty of other rematches, it would have taken maybe one day at most to make rematches for all of the gym leaders.

The shining example is Heracross, who only learns reversal, and rocksmash and at 50+: Megahorn. His typing also makes him frail as hell since flying types are very common in G/S/C

Stealing pokemon is a nice mechanic. It adds some difficulty and stuff.

Having to purify all those pokemon to be able to transfer them and unlock stuff.

Also shadow rush was a pretty good attack.

Didn't do enough to fix some of the few problems BW had, like seasons still being pretty much pointless or a lot of gen 5 pokemon being available way too late with stupidly high evo requirements.

I suppose in terms of gameplay, Stadium 2 is my favourite game. It leaves far less room for flaws like the mainline, but on the flip side it leaves far less room for expanding the series as a whole.

Otherwise, I've yet to find a favourite mainline, because I don't care for the story-mode gameplay if you will; I like each new game for the Pokemon, and the world-building, and have yet to consider one leagues above any other.

Mandatory double battles made me fall in love with this game. I consider it to be better than any of the mainline Pokemon games, which is probably why we'll never get another Colosseum/Gale of Darkness-style game set in Orre.

Pretty bad list of pokemon available. I dislike how so many of them are gen 2 pokemon.
