>>37462563It's complicated, but:
Nintendo: Owns the ENTIRE Pokemon IP, every trademark and copyright. Creates the hardware Pokemon games run on. Also owns an undisclosed % stake in Creatures, Inc.
Creatures: Owns an undisclosed % stake in GameFreak, Inc. Licenses the Pokemon trademark from Nintendo, and develops the Pokemon TCG.
GameFreak: Develops the Pokemon video games, creator and source of all Pokemon IP.
The Pokemon Company: Markets all Pokemon media and is responsible for production and logistics. This is the company that gets the games/cards on shelves in retail stores and on Amazon. Originally jointly owned by Nintendo, Creatures Inc., and GameFreak with a 33% share, GF and Creatures sold 3% to 4Kids Entertainment, who then liquidated their stake. Nintendo owns only 10% of TPC now so the other shares might be held by other companies.
My guess is Nintendo owns less than 51% of Creatures Inc., otherwise it wouldn't have to license the Pokemon trademarks and IP from Nintendo.
