The best part about gen 4 was easily the connectivity with gen 3. They were bold in giving so many incentives and reasons to use the gen 3 games in slot 2 in Diamond and Pearl, it's a shame Platinum pulled back on that and HGSS barely had any connectivity.

By 2009 the DSi was already out and Nintendo probably used it as the default DS model. Maybe that's why HGSS didn't have any compatibility with the GBA games.
