Will Gen 8 have improved Pokemon models and animations, or will they simply re-use the ones from LGPE?

They're gonna reuse the USUM models and update textures, Anon.

They'll just reuse the old 3d models, that's why they have them anyway. You don't have to redo them just update the textures. Every Pokemon ruined by 3d models will be forevermore

Better textures/meshes/whatever the term for the skin on the model is called. The fact LGEP did just that, while still being based off a 3DS engine means that they'll absolutely take advantage of the increased power the Switch has for the models. I think it'll be more akin to Ga-Olé.

X & Y models, Anon, some of which are from the 3D Pokedex. Those models have been reused for over 6 years and haven't had updated animations or anything, they likely never will or itll be much later down the line.

well, those are re-used from sun/moon which in turn were re-used from X/Y which were re-used from pokedex radar or something which were done so high definition it caused the lags on 3DS.

so... I'd say no, they won't redo them from scratch since it was a commission from creatures inc, the guys who did detective pikachu (and mother)

LGPE is a Switch game, so...

The models are gonna look exactly the same. LGPE uses the same models as the 3DS games, which in turns the same models from Pokedex 3D (with the exception of the Gen 6 and 7 Pokemon).

The models are high poly anyway. They were future-proofing when the made them. Animations are another matter. I guess it depends on how lazy they feel like being.

The models are fine. They need to update the idle animations though. Some Pokemon still have the awkward always flying poses introduced so they'd look good in sky battles. If they're going to do any model tweaks they should give fire types better fire and add transparency to Musharna's smoke.

That’s every single one of them, some are just more ruined than others. Look at the sprites for any Pokémon side by side on Pokémon Database - the 3D models always look worse. Somehow they make the Pokémon more bloated, washed out, stiffer, and have less interesting poses or faces than fucking pixels.

You're not looking at the models, you're looking at 2D images of the models.
