>>37473008>lmao wtf is this potatoIts called a Gameboy Color, Anon. And its the the original way to experience Gen 2. Its how I played it as a kid and it fits like an old glove. Has a god-tier battery life too.
I'd like to front light or backlight mod it someday, but for now I use a USB LED lamp to illuminate it. Only cost me £7 and I plug it into a powerbank.
I could play on a GBA SP with a frontlit screen but the shoulder buttons, cramped controls, and the cart sticking out just make it outright unsuitable for gameboy games. For GBA games I have a Gameboy Micro. For DS and newer I have my modded N3DS and DSTwo flash cart.
I could emulate it on my GPD Win 2, or my 3DS, but I prefer to save my Win 2 for actual PC games since it takes a while to charge up, same with the 3DS for 3DS games.
Pokémon was designed for unlit screens anyway. The 2nd gen GB games use light and bright colors and white for the most part to make things pretty visible in low-light.
