Honestly not a fan. Not a fan of all the aesthetic noises in HGSS either. Makes me hate playing the games with headphones.

It's a very cute and iconic sound effect. I hope they don't do away with it in Gens 8 and beyond. I am not opposed to the sound effect being expanded upon (perhaps changes slightly depending on what you are bumping into), but just don't take it away completely.
