So maybe I'm just a fucking retard but what do Creatures Inc even do with Pokémon? I mean GF makes the games and Nintendo distributes them with TPC being the 'face' company owned by the previous three but what is Creatures contribution?

Creatures is a studio that pretty much exclusively handles art and asset creation, so all of the design choices are on game freak

Fun fact: creatures also worked on the mother games, which is why there's a lot of stylistic similarities between early pokemon and mother

Well this thread seems like the right place to ask, how are the billions made from Pokémon merch split up between Nintendo, Creatures and Game Freak? I mean surely they all get a cut of the profits right?

TPC probably gets the most of all the profits in order to continue churning out literally everything in the franchise aside from the games despite being a subsidiary company.

Most of it goes to TPC but TPC is equally co-owned by the three.
Note that because of how corporations work, most of the money probably stays in TPC unless one of the owning companies needs it for something. They still get to put 1/3 of TPC's value on their books.
