yo-kai watch has great games, but i agree that its monster designs have been pretty bad overall.
that being said, the new "shadowside" designs are much better. before this era, i honestly would have struggled to even fill out a top 5. maybe level-5 is just better at making humanoid monsters than animal-like ones.

i prefer regular superstarmon, but dark superstarmon is also pretty cool. banchomamemon is kino.
robodraggie looks like the result of a jogress between shoutmon and extyranomon. slitheref is a pretty nice design.

idk, i'd put falcom on the same level. the kiseki series is consistently good. square used to be on that level too, but now the only thing they make that compares to atlus or falcom is kingdom hearts.

I was a bit sad to see that there's practically no fanart for any of the monster designs when I was reviewing ones I hadn't seen before. Would have helped if they were more artist friendly, the designs do have a lot going on, but it's a bit disappointing that nearly all of the fanart that did exist was of the game's protags.
