Do you think Gen 8 will finally be free of:
-Handholding.
-Dumbed down difficulty (or lack thereof).
-Evil team with saturday morning cartoon goals.
-Box legendaries being part of the main quest.
-Cutscene overload.
-Legendary/Mythical overload.
-Power-fantasy gimmicks like Megas and Z-moves.
-Linearity.

Even if the difficulty is ramped up, people don't concede things are hard in Pokemon anymore because of peer pressure, they just dismiss it as "annoying" or "time-consuming".

Absolutely not. They'll probobly make it even worse, and still not add something as simple as 'Do you want to hear how to do X Yes/No' that was in previous games.

Almost certainly; but likewise it'll be in ways you can adjust like turning off the EXP.Share

Has been the case since Gen 3, and they added it into HG/SS. Is going to continue.

Define Overload. Gen 6 only had 3+1 Mythical. Ultra Beasts technically aren't Legendaries at all so Gen 7 only had the Tapus [Who were not Legends either, people knew for sure they existed and even where]

There's sure to be some form of gimmick while Z-Moves gets left to rot like Megas and only shows up in postgame.

Theres a fair chanve it'll be toned down, given they've stated its for the hardcore audience, but id be surprised if it went away completely.

Eh, pokemon always either feels very easy or unfair and frustrating. I'm fine with dificulty staying where it is.

Id be really surprised. The furthest deviation from this I can think of is some pseudo intellectual philosophy bunk like gen 5 and 6 OR if we're really lucky a story of the villains not being evil but just having goals we oppose.

I'm fully expecting a ton of cutscenes like gen 7. Its best just to lean into it and instead hope for dialogue trees and half decent voice acting

Evil teams don't exist in real life because they're the embodiment of "saturday morning cartoon" baddies. Do you want Cosa Nostra-styled enemies, trying to kill kids? Beheading Pokémon and putting them in your bed? I sure do not want that.

Yeah, this is not fine. I'd like more breedable pokemon, rather than infinite legendaries.

I sure hope Z-moves aren't returning, but i hope Megas do. I hope next gimmick is gonna be cool and not feeling "forced".

sun/moon sold over 16 million, so the cutscene overload and linearity will also be worse than ever.
as long as idiots keep rewarding awful games with great sales, pokemon will never improve.

possibly. people shat all over gen 7 because of the unskippable dialogue. gens 6 and 7 didn't go nuts with legendaries and mythicals (UBs get a pass, they're their own thing). no idea what's left after megas and z-moves. linearity could go either way

There were three mythicals though.

There's also the three box legendaries, Cosmog and Cosmoem, and 4 mythicals. Then there's Type: Null and Sylvally, which are officially legendaries for some reason even though they're in the middle of the Pokedex.
Plus, Meltan and Melmetal are technically Gen 7.
