You predicted correctly, and now you have a Togedemaru in against a Poison-locked attack. Obviously I am 99% going to switch to something with a ground type attack. So you hit U Turn. Then one of two things happens.
1) You see me switch to a Togedemaru check/counter, get a free hit in, and then get to pick what you want to use against it
2) You see me stay in predicting the U Turn to get a hit in on what you switch to, and then get to pick what you want to get hit by Poison Jab.
If you switched instead of using U Turn, you wouldn't get the damage in either scenario and wouldn't know if you need to switch into something that can take a Poison Jab or into something to counter what I'm switching to
