/r/Pokemon is literally a sub for blogposting and posting fanart to get upvotes. But reddit also has subs for everything from Pokemon Go, Mystery Dungeon, to the competitive scene, and all of them are pretty active. Hell, it has two subs for Pokemon Go, both of them are nearly as active as the main sub, which is honestly insane.

Same. I feel that the imageboard + varied subjects + anonymity thing leads to more spontaneous discussions. It can even become addictive, to the point 4chan became my main source of social interactions for the past 6-7 years.

I just wish the users weren't so autistic and angry all the time. It's usually funny but it can get really tiring.
