>>37505741Tons of fond memories. On my 6th birthday my mom and aunts put money together to buy me a yellow Game Boy Color and Pokemon Blue. I didn't know english at the time, so I would ask my mom to translate a lot of stuff for me, and that's how I learned english at a very young age. For some reason I distinctly remember always forgetting what "defense" meant.
Ruby/Sapphire will always be the most special to me tho. All games before that I basically found out about them when I saw them lying in the store or I saw a commercial on tv, but because of figuring out/spending more time on the internet I actually found out about Ruby/Sapphire way before they ever released in Europe, so I spent like half a year intensely going over the pokedex, looking at prerelease screenshots and just imagining what the games would be like. That long period of anticipation made actually getting to play the games all the more memorable, especially since I had to share my GBA with my sister and she got to play first cause she was older (even tho I was a way bigger pokemon fan).
Good times.
