the plot and characters are so memorable I can't even remember any of it so, it boils down to a battle of opinion, which I don't care about
the gimmick part now. everything now had to use the stylus which seemed a good idea until you remembered that this shit deteriorate your screen. so, exit the tedious baking, exit the pointless first turn in the contests and the otherwise useful mining.
the bases system was really annoying, forcing you to enter a wireless zone to actually see your base instead of just having it on your map and see your friend's on your journey. the options to decorate were less interesting so, overall, it was kind of missing the point.
ok, my bad, I should have said "without any decent explanation" because, nothing explains heatran in game, cresselia is meaningless if you lived outside japan and did not have access to the event for darkrai, regigiggas seems like an asspull to go with the added evolutions, and that's without talking about manaphy, shaymin and arceus which you would never have heard about without internet or, again, living in japan. those things were poorly handled.
