Remember when the Hoenn League ended and they were gearing up for the next gen and Game Freak delayed DP because lol they suck at programing and the anime was forced to make a Battle Frontier anime? That’s what is going to happen this year when the Switch game is inevitably delayed. Sun and Moon: Battle Tree.

Except they've already made and released a game for Switch already and there's nothing new in the Switch they haven't already experienced with past Nintendo handhelds (everything is just better/more powerful after all).

Nintendo's been waiting too damn long on this fucker so it can push Switches, and if it STILL isn't prepared this year, they're going to beat the SHIT out of GameFreak and assume direct control, which will only lead to even harsher deadlines because Nintendo also knows just how powerful of a brand Pokemon is that they can't NOT let it be a yearly franchise.

red/green, gold/silver and diamond/pearl all got delayed. gs was especially a shitshow that eventually led to iwata coming in and fixing their spaghetti code himself so the game could finally be released.

There will be no switch game besides more LGPE-kind of side games. The next portable console will be announced in 2020-q4 and released in 2022-q1 and we are going to get a Sinnoh remake on the Switch before that.

And yes, the Sinnoh remake is like LGPE. They are experimenting with the LGPE formula and really going to release Let's Go Togepi and Let's Go Porygon for a more serious audience (meaning more nostalgia pandering for older fans.) They will touch on everything that was covered in gen 4 so you get a HGSS and Platinum remake at once in the style of LG.
