Not that her team is bad, but that Milotic is an odd one - the only non-Sinnoh. If you're gonna replace it, what mon would fit? Electivire would've been great.

This. Milotic is just one of those go-to mons for important trainers. Gyarados, Magneton/Magnezone, Crobat, Lucario, etc.

He also uses Wild Charge on Arcanine, Flare Blitz on Rapidash and Wood Hammer on Abomasnow, all of which damage the Pokemon using it. The Life Orb is far less harmful than the Pokemon battle itself, you know, it's already hypocritical for him to use Pokemon in battle at all (and he acknowledges that).

Guys, just because a Pokemon was first seen in region X, doesn't mean it is only indigenous to region X. It was just first seen by players in that particular region dex.

For D/P, the region dex of 151 is what is indigenous to Sinnoh. The "new" Sinnoh Pokemon in that dex are just being seen there by the player for the first time. Milotic is from Sinnoh as much as it is from Hoenn.

Not him, but they don't. Alola Pokemon sort of have something like that, or some Pokemon, but only because they're more regional or very rare.

Now Fairy type was explained like this, much like Steel/Dark, which is a fair thing since new elements are always being discovered, same with animals.

I think they should have just pretended Fairy type was always around, if only because the only way to explain Jigglypuff and Clefairy suddenly being weak to Poison is an outright retcon.

Like ORAS and Gen 7 seem to treat Fairy as having always been around, though I'm not sure about LGPE as I haven't played it.

Either way the typings don't matter too much, its easy to figure out something genetically new in a world like this over time.

Fairy is sometimes regarded as being new in its own weird way.

A lot doesn't particularly make sense with Pokemon, Eggs being recently discovered is a huge one for instance, or the lack of Pokedex entries that Oak should already have in there from his team, starters, and at least Agatha's team.

Not as far as I can remember. Every gen 3 pokemon was treated as if it was widely known.
Lunatone's Emerald dex entry says it was first discovered 40 years prior.
