The anime actually gave us a big fuck you in the last episode of Diamond and Pearl with Flint vs Cynthia by teasing us with how kino Ash's Infernape vs Cynthia's Garchomp would be. It hurts so much knowing that this battle will never happen.

It's bizarre seeing the Cartoon Network logo on a webm for the anime. I remember back when the episode aired in Japan. I can't imagine what they did for the dub because they used Together as the theme for this scene and it synced with the animation amazingly well.

I thought of it as a positive omen though, as it felt like Ash reaffirming his convictions after a long time. The end of Sinnoh was pretty good.

They used the sinnoh league victors theme. The song actually worked with the scene more than you might expect, although I'm not sure if I prefer the dub or the sub version.

I forgot that analogy between Ash and Flint. Can't believe they hinted that's how the battle would had went down, it seemed to me that Ash's Infernape wasn't at that level yet.
