And thinking they'll reveal on a literal who anniversary this time out is just as bad anon. At least they had the 20th anniversary to celebrate with SM's reveal, 23rd doesn't have that ring about it.

Not an April/May/E3fag, but I think he's right about Gen 8 revealed on Pokémon Day 2019 is really unlikely as the 23rd anniversary is nothing compared to 25th or 30th.

An anniversary is an anniversary. I only said Pokemon day because of the amount of weight surrounding a gen 8 reveal because of how huge and marketable it'll be due to the Switch. Doesn't have that ring to it? Get the fuck outta here. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt; if not Pokemon day then it'll be announced shortly before. I would say a week or two after but that would make zero sense to skip the 27th and then just out of the blue host a direct or reveal event when you know damn well it makes way more sense to plan it on the day dedicated to Pokemon.

Anon, if that were true, then they easily could have done so for SM's reveal. But they didn't, because the NDA's hadn't expired (not remember Corocoro teasing the boxart and saying "You're not ready to see this!!" until they released the gameplay trailer?) The exact same thing would happen if revealed in February again and if half the noise surrounding the scope of the game is correct, there's no way in hell they're going to reveal without waiting for the NDA's to expire further before doing so, to give the best first impression.

Good job it's Game Freak who make the decision and not some, especially when they already said it was launching this year and Nintendo confirmed it to the shareholders with the 9 month statement by saying everything planned for 2019, both revealed and yet to do so, would launch in 2019. Plenty of time yet for the reveal lad.

Not when past experience informs me that doing so would be to repeat Gen VII's fiasco of an early reveal anon. Wish as hard as you may, it still doesn't change the fact Game Freak are likely operating exactly the same as they've done for the last 4 November releases meaning the game is NDA'ed out the arse to prevent information leaking out early. That sadly means even Daddy Masuda is unable to reveal anything currently covered by an NDA yet to expire.

Here's the ting - all companies involved have said it's launching this year, every LGEP article (nay, Pokémon related article) made mention of the fact the game's coming this year. They know they don't need to reveal early, because of this, so can afford to wait a while longer and revealing more at once than they could for SM's reveal.
