Gen 2's Red Fight beats every other finale in the series.
I found Gen 4's narrative the most satisying.

FRLG's all the themes tied very well together. Especially Pallet Town's at the end.

It felt like the summation and celebration of the entire campaign.

There's something special about the original Gameboy version of RBY's ending theme that none of the remixes capture. It's kind of melancholy compared to most credits themes. BW1 has a really good one, since it's really energetic and powerful and works really well in contrast to the game's ending. BW2's credits were good but the music was inferior to BW1's credits music.

I honestly don't find most of the credits that memorable in the games. I did enjoy USUM's sprites being like GSC's credits and how they made the actual ending much shorter.

it's really not considering the higher stakes at BW's endgame.
Which is why I feel this credits song only works in that situation.
that's why B2W2 goes back to the calmer credits theme which is also one of my faves!

FRLG's credits are servicable and even show previous areas I like it but it's not my top 5

I like XY ending. It's a pretty good closure to the story.
What I think they fucked up on is not having the ending theme with sung lyrics.

Pretty much my reaction when I beat it back then too. All the games had gentle, wistful sort of themes that relaxed you and made you reflect on your journey, sometimes even making you a little melancholy. But it was all nostalgic sounding music. I had even played HGSS recently so I had one in my head at the time.

Then BW hits you with this bombastic FUCK YEAH YOU JUST SAVED THE WORLD song and you're just smiling all FUCK YEAH I DID and it's good.

No pokemon game has bad credits music.
