>>37522831#1) Those drops were nowhere in the vicinity of "5 fps". The game uses a double buffer V-sync implementation, therefore, when the on-screen rendering budget is exceeded, the game automatically shifts to a normally locked 30fps to 20fps. This also only happens in portable mode, to my knowledge. Xenoblade 2, on the other hand, not only ranges in piss poor image quality ranging from roughly 400~600p in the majority of instances, but it also frequently drops below 20 fps, and sometimes even under 15 fps at key stress points. This happens both in portable AND docked mode, btw. And if that wasn't bad enough, the frame pacing is erratic and all over the goddamn place too.
#2) The fps drops in LGPE are extremely infrequent (ie: only evident in select locations such as 3/4 of the way through Viridian Forest as well as Koga's Gym). Even something like Breath of the Wild which is a substantially more polished game than either of the two in question here has a far less stable frame rate and drops in literally every locale imaginable.
#3) Both Xenoblade and BotW are games with action oriented combat. LGPE is a turn-based game. In other words, frame rate drops do not significantly effect gameplay besides breaking immersion. Even if the drops were more frequent they wouldn't result in a compromise to the game's playability.
