I found the overworld very easy to traverse and a lot of fun to explore, there are A LOT of sidequests and secrets that can make you forget there even is a main story if you are into that sort of thing, and it's exiting to update the watch and have stronger yokai suddendly available in familiar places. The yokais act on their own but you still have to manage them wich made them feel more "alive" somehow, almost like a pokemon battle from the anime. It's a different experience to the Pokemon games, and it should be noted that it's also a big celebration of japanese culture and daily suburban life (wich is why bug catching and gashapon are key mechanics among other things).
