but he does recognize that the most important market to hit in the new generation of kids
people who have already played pokemon will understand if they want to play the next game, but a kid who has never played a game before is the important one to retain

True, but when will people realize that kids don't actually like "HEY GUYS, WE HAVE TO WORK TOGETHER, NEVER FORGET THE POWER OF FRIENDSHIP, WITH MY FRIENDS AT MY SIDE WE CAN NEVER LOSE TO EVIL!" If that was the case, then call of duty wouldn't be as popular with kids. Even kids aren't stupid enough to be oblivious to when they are being talked down to, and just tolerate that shit at best

Black and White are objectively the best games Masuda has directed. He had to fight with Sugimori to have the changes he wanted and he went as far to call them the masterpiece. They were also in development for 4 years and the sequels add another 2 to that. You will not find this passion with nu-game freak.
