Waifu pandering and nostalgia pandering is killing this franchise.
Just look at Gen 7. The Lillie pandering was too much for me, the cutscenes were too much for me, the forced gimmicks (dances and watches) were too much for me, the plot that wants you to take it seriously even though it's presented as if it's for nine-year-olds is too much for me. The monster designs looking more and more like they're being more made to appeal to the younger crowd is too much for me. It's… I don't know, maybe I've overgrown or just gotten tired of the series.
If you took off your nostalgia googles for a second, you'd realize that this game has barely changed these past twenty years. LGPE is the final nail in the coffin.
