Extra quests that reward you with.. Character unlocks. This way you could play as the NPCs post-game and in Online Mode, including the Champion, Team Boss and so on.

I don't expect this to happen because it would take away from *your* adventure. But merely for aesthetic reasons, it would be plenty of fun

- Challenging but rewarding catch upgrades. SOS battles or pokéradar.
- No overpowered catch upgrades before defeating the Elite Smiths. National-dex completion should be thought by the devs as a post-game goal.
- More gimmicky facilities like Battle Factory or Battle slos.
- Difficult trainer battles with better AI than the main game but not overpowered hunt-and-kill algorithms either. Maybe make the opponents very smart but not that strong until you get to high rankings.
- Significantly more stuff to explore when you come back.
- Daily/weekly events that keep you coming back for more new stuff.
- Type specialist rematches that change their team composition around.
Sun/Moon was good except for the amount of stuff, the SOS battles not being post-game, and the Battle Tree/Dome being too savage.
