>>37536759smogon is kinda stupid with some of its bans, but banning strategies that rely on luck are good in my opinion, the problem with the meta in pokemon is that the developers don't think about it at all while making the game, so there are a lot of shitmons with dumb abilities, horrible stats, or even no moves at all (Meganium, Serperior, etc).. all smogon does is try to make the game the most "skill based" as possible, instead of "luck based", because it really does not require any strategy to click minimize 3 times and become invincible just because "LOL I'm so lucky XD". you can see this problem with luck very easily at in-game places like battle frontier, tower, etc, where you usually loses because an opponent evaded 3 times in a row by holding a brightpowder
