Just started a new playthrough of Omega Ruby. The beginning has just as many pauses and cutscenes as the beginning of Ultra Sun.

VP, care to explain why all that autistic screaming over the latest games was necessary?

in my opinion, the ultra sun/moon story / game is fine ONCE besides the hand holding BUT it doesn't hold up when you replay it. recently bought ultra sun after already owning ultra moon and the fucking thing was a chore to get through, no way am i doing the fucking rainbow rocket shit again with those tedious puzzles

the battle tree, online features and streamlined breeding/iv/ev training is fucking fantastic tho and i've put more than 200 hours into my ultra moon save doing online battles and breeding mons without breaking a sweat.

I've played through sun and ultra sun and really didn't mind the (mostly) repeated storyline. If you want a gripping storyline full of highs and lows than pokemon isnt the rpg for you. The blank slate story, which is written for kids, allows the player to insert themself into the adventure. USUM is like a vacation to me, you bob along at your own pace. And yeah I've sunk a tonne of hours into post game as well.

Both good games. Autistic screeching about cutscenes is a fucking meme.

Pros: Best Regional Dex, PSS and Super Training were godsends and competitive Baattling peaked as a result of these things

Cons: Few new Pokemon. Started the trend of dumbing down the main game. Not as many memorable tracks. Megas started the trend of every new gen needing to have a gimmick battle mechanic.
