>>37545634I can't speak for all of /vp/ but I personally have mixed feelings about this movie. It had a fairly simplistic plot and dealt more with existential crises than actually creating a serious, life-threatening conflict. Ash getting obliterated and turned to stone after countless Pokemon were fighting is hardly compelling. They had to artificially raise the stakes because Mewtwo wasn't actually dangerous. Mew definitely felt like it was tacked on, and it was most likely the reason why the latter half of this movie was clones vs. originals instead of Mewtwo overcoming its own personal issues.
The dub is absolute atrocious garbage for changing much of the script, not even showing Mewtwo's origin story, and replacing all of the OST. Also, nobody should confuse Alakazam for Scyther.
Only benefits this movie provided were the Burger King and TCG promotions. Those were absolutely kino.
