>>37547781>>37547824>Dark-type moves often have effects that benefit off of the opponent and create an "unfair" situationSo does pretty much every other type that isn't Normal, Fighting, or Dragon. Paralysis, burn, confusion, etc.
>PUrsuit punishes switch-outsBy hitting you with an 80 base power move
>Foul Play uses the opponent's attack power against them.So it's only useful in a handful of situations, and it already had a very thin spread.
>Knock Off removes itemsRemoving items wasn't as big of a deal back then. It was the base power buff that turned it into a 130 BP/100 Acc monstrosity of a move that made it useful.
>Payback hits harder when you attack last. It's a shitty, terrible move, and there's also Avalance and Revenge that do the same thing, and they're shitty, terrible moves, too.
>Sucker Punch attacks before the opponentSo do a plethora of other priority moves, which also have the added benefit of not failing if the opponent uses support moves.
>Dark-types aren't raw powerYou can say that again
>They are cementing an unfair advantageThey don't even do that, not anymore than Blizzard's 30% freeze chance or Scald's 30% burn chance.
>Crippling themDark type moves don't inflict statuses
>Using their own power against themOnly one move, one which was never seen before Gen 6 because all of the Pokemon that got it had better moves and were trash.
>If you want raw power, pick Fighting and DragonI would, but they got unjustly nerfed, too. But I could also pick
>Ground>Fire>Ice>Water>Flying>Psychic>Rock>Ghostand get better results than Dark.
>3 types>That's hardly a tonSteel is the best defensive type in the game. Many Dark types had no way around that prior to Gen 6. It was fine because Dark types moves blow. Normal is also resisted by only 2 types, yet you never see it outside of Return/Boom Burst on Normal-mons.
