Pokemon used to be my favorite childhood franchise, now I just can't stand the fucking thing. I feel like the games have become really stale and I can't get excited to play them anymore, It's not a genre thing since I'm still having fun the SMT & Digimon, but ever since X&Y I haven't had that spark, and it wasn't even at once, it feels like gradual disdain. I had a friend lend me LGPE to try it and I was still bored, replaying old games didn't help but were an improvement, Fan games feel mainly like Fan fiction. I'm not even sure Gen 8 will be good but what other option is there? Pokemon has a monopoly on the genre so I can't find an alternative that isn't super niche or only in Japan.

Anyone who's feeling the same, how do you guys do it? How do you stay invested?
