>>37547229- Bring back the 8 gyms: That is a staple of the series and should not have been done away with. Trials were tedious and I loathe replaying them, whereas gyms were often fun to go back through again if you picked a different starter.
- Dynamic Levels and Forced Formats: All battles should have dynamic levels (ie: youngsters on route 1 are always your average level-3, gym leaders +3, etc.) and should force you to use the same number of mons they do. No more stomping a ddue with one mon with your six.
- Challening end-game content: The game does not and should not end after the regional Elite Four, and the game does not end at Level 60. Let us go check out other regions and battle their gyms (a la Gold/Silver) at higher levels. Endgame trainers should be in the 90s with their mascot at 100.
- Meaningful rivals: The best rivals were Blue and Silver, because they were actually RIVALS with conflicts. Stop with the wussified "friendly friend who has friendly battles with you on your friendship journey". And stop with the group friendrivals. Have one friend if you must, but the one with type-advantage over you should be someone who drives conflict with you, teaming up on rare occasions.
- Meaningful Gangs: Can we stop with the goofy dressed mooks who constantly get trounced by ten year olds? Rockets were my favorite not because of genwun nostalgia, but because they were a mafia-like organization that stole pokemon and enslaved them. Flooding the planet or whatever the fuck crazy Alex Jones shit they come up with now is just nonsense, especially when you can faceroll through all the administrators.
- Engaging Story: Kind of ties in with the gang and the rivals, but the story really needs to be there in an R P G. Just put some sort of fucking story in these games, rather than the railroad between towns and having the plot be "beat Team leader, beat Elite Four, beat rival."
